I just wanted to share a solution with everyone that took me way too long to fix.
I have a Windows 7 machine that connects to file shares on an XP machine. After several months of working fine the Windows 7 machine starts throwing an error when trying to open a share.
The specified network password is not correct |
Even though the password was correct (double/tripple checked) After several hours I finally noticed that the XP and Win7 machine clocks were out by just over 1 hour.
After fixing the clocks the error went away and all was well.

I would also like to point out that this security event happens on Windows Server 2003 because all machines on a local network should be within 1 hour of the servers time.
And that my clocks were thrown out by a CMOS reset that I had to do for an unrelated over-clocking issue.
